Kite JournalSaturday July 20th, 2013We’re Going To the Farm... The Alligator Farm...This Place Is a Zoo!A nice day for a ride to the coast. It's already cloudy but so far the rain keeps skirting around us. We head over to Saint Augustine with a long list of things to do. First up today is the Florida Alligator Farm. Yup. I haven't been there since I was a kid. It was fun and interesting. They run a nice park and there are plenty of animals to check out. ![]() It’s not over til the gator chomps After the farm we scurried down the road a couple of miles (actually it may be four miles) and parked in the Extreme Kites parking lot. It's not Mecca, it's not Nirvana, but you can't tell by me, cuz I'm like a kid in a kite store. No, really, I cannot help but smile as we head inside this cool store! ![]() Ok, I was so distracted that I did not take a single picture inside. I will definitely get some updated pics next time. A new Jeff Howard Hoopty fighter kite was acquired. I've been wanting one for awhile even though I am quite the poor fighter pilot. But the plan is for that to change! This one was made by Jeff in May of last year. I don't think he's making them anymore but I belive that Into The Wind makes them now, with Jeff's approval. ![]() We passed by the St. Auguestine Ampitheater on the way to the kite shop. The marque said "Sublime Tonight!", oh my! We almost went, but eventually decided that we would have to pass on that. ![]() Another great meal at Sunset Grill and back to the hotel to relax and watch the ocean. ![]() Storms way out in the ocean at midnight... it was an awesome light show. |
