Kite JournalWednesday July 31st, 2013Time For A Little Housekeepingeight days a weekAnother quiet wind day. The weather underground says that the airport again has four mile per hour winds and again I doubt it. Their chart shows the wind was zero from four am until eight am and then jumped up to a steady three point five for two solid hours then peaked at four point five before settling back to four. So, yeah, no wind. No Horvath 130 yet. It will be coming from far away so I don't expect to see it very soon. It may be coming all the way from Germany, so maybe another week. The Flik should show up for the weekend, we shall see. I also ordered a couple of iFlites with twin vents instead of the single vent, so those should show up in a month or so. Patrick Tan still has to make them and then they have to make their way from Singapore, so those are going to be awhile. And of course I also asked for an iPrey or two, so there's a lot in the pipeline! So, we are under a Horvath watch, a Flik watch, an iFlite watch and an iPrey watch. Nice. Now it's time to get serious and choose my colors for the Pro-B. I wanna fly! Ok, so it's really time for me to concentrate on my server move in the next week. In eight more days my GoDaddy hosting account goes poof so it is kinda pressing. Not much to worry over though as testing has been completed on the new server and it looks like everything is in place except the pictures for the site. So those will be copied over in the next few days and hopefully by the end of the weekend windstock.net will be served from our new GoDaddy virtual server. I heard of a new festival today. It's on Antelope Island at the end of August and sounds really cool. Kites, Hot Air Balloons, lots of cool kiters going, etc. I figured it was close by since Tampa Bay Kiting had posted info about it, but no, not close at all ... it's in Utah... there's an island in Utah?!... who knew?!! Aw man... One day. That brings me to the mother of all festivals, oh how I wish i could take a few weeks and head to the desert. Ya know what I mean... cuz it's time for Burning Man. Wow. I have actually spoken to people who are heading there. That is about as close as we will get to it this year. But that's closer than ever before! Have fun out there people. Be safe. Now I know it doesn't happen til the last week in August (the man burns in 31 days) but there are lots of people already making the trek. That's definitely on the list of things to do. Hey! Burning Man and Antelope Island are only 621 miles apart!!! One day, er, week!!..... |
