Kite JournalThursday August 8th, 2013Virtually Newtime for some kite flyinIt is a new day here at windstock.net. Stuff is still packed in boxes. Light switches don't work, but it is nice to have a virtual home. ![]() The weather has been quite unfriendly to kites of late, but we are hoping for some good wind this Saturday when we head over to St. Augustine to fly with Extreme Kites for the 3rd Annual Back2School Beach Fest. Looks like a fun time at the pier. I suspect we will not be the biggest kites in the air so come see the show if you're nearby. ![]() I have been preparing new templates for a parafoil and two small "force rotors". they are like parachute/Bol thingys. I plan to hot cut soon and then get back to sewing. Choosing colors is the hard part. ![]() Jay Nunes posted a picture of his new Peter Lynn Whale on facebook earlier this week. Wow what a nice kite. It's 30 feet long and really looks cool in the sky. It comes with a compression bag with a Whale tale graphic. Pretty darn cool. Congrats Jay!! I got a rock. Er... I mean Rok, aka Rokkaku! It showed up on Wednesday and just looks great. I didn't have a chance to mention it but I ordered it from Gomberg on Saturday and its already here. We went for the Tukinami Wave. It is really cool, 7 feet tall and the colors are very nice. Gomberg has discontinued their 7 foot Roks in favor of the 5 foot. Check their factory outlet page if you want a big one. They are pretty much gone at this point. ![]() C'mon wind!. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
